Dominique Ashley is a public health professional, motivational speaker, mentor, and founder of Purposed Pearls Mentoring. Known for her intentional leadership and powerful storytelling, Dominique uses her voice and platforms to inspire confidence, connection, and change in every space she enters.
Diagnosed with Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) at just 8 years old, Dominique gained a deep understanding of resilience, advocacy, and strength at a young age. These early life lessons continue to shape her approach to mentorship and service—encouraging others to embrace their journey, grow through challenges, and lead with purpose.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Fayetteville State University and a master’s degree from Liberty University. In 2018, she served as Miss Black North Carolina US Ambassador, using her platform to promote service, sisterhood, and community engagement. That experience further fueled her commitment to creating spaces where all people feel seen, heard, and valued.
In addition to leading Purposed Pearls, Dominique is a published children’s author and host of the Glow Up and Grow Podcast, where she explores topics like purpose, identity, and personal transformation. Through every project, she leads with empathy, authenticity, and a passion for helping others step into the fullest version of themselves.
Dominique is dedicated to building inclusive communities that empower people of all backgrounds to thrive. Her journey is a powerful reminder that our challenges don’t define us—they prepare us to create meaningful impact in the lives of others.
Creating Community. Cultivating Confidence.
Purposed Pearls Mentoring is all about lifting up Black girls through three key pillars — community, education, and lifestyle. We create spaces where friendships flourish, provide support to help girls excel in school and life, and encourage habits that promote wellness and self-love. Together, these pillars help girls grow into the confident, purpose-driven leaders they were made to be.
In 2018, Dominique Ashley served as Miss Black North Carolina US Ambassador. Her platform, Polished Pebbles, focused on helping young girls build confidence, strengthen their communication skills, and learn the power of their voice. Through community events, mentorship, and service, Dominique used her title to promote sisterhood and show girls across the state that they are seen, valued, and capable of leading.
